In Mid-May we hosted a Grand Opening and Partner Celebration at our Energy Garden in Central Florida. The facility uses anaerobic digestion to convert 130,000 tons per year of organic wastes into clean energy and natural fertilizers.
It was a memorable a morning. Congressman Webster from the 10th District of Florida joined us, as did Chris Jones from Republic Services, Peter Kacheris from Bonnet Creek Waldorf Astoria and Hilton, Board Chair Don Greer and District Administrator Bill Warren from Reedy Creek Improvement District, and of course Harvest Power‘s CEO Kathleen Ligocki, RVP Chris Peters, and facility manager Dale Doerr. (l-r Peters, Jones, Kacheris, Webster, Greer, Ligocki, Warren, Doerr).
After the ribbon cutting all 85+ guests joined together with their very own piece of ribbon for a group photo. It was a magical moment for organic waste, anaerobic digestion, Harvest Power and Friends, and sustainability efforts everywhere.
Thanks to all who joined us for this occasion. We’re assembling a slideshow of the event; if you’d like to be notified when it’s ready be sure to sign up for our monthly updates. In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more about this facility:
