Harvest Power Named One of World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies By Fast Company

Company Honored for “Realizing the Awesome Might of Food Waste”

WALTHAM, Mass. – Harvest Power, a leader in providing organics management solutions in North America, has been honored in Fast Company’s annual Most Innovative Companies issue, released today. Harvest Power joins leading businesses including Google, Amazon, Airbnb, Nike and other rising newcomers such as GoPro, GoldieBlox, and FitBit.

The Most Innovative Companies is Fast Company’s most significant, high-profile editorial effort of the year. The editorial team spends months gathering and sifting data, to identify those enterprises that exemplify the best in business from across the economy and around the world. The end result is a package that dares to be different, emphasizing not just revenue growth and profit margins but also progressive, sustainable business models and an ethos of creativity. This year’s honorees include major brands such as Dodge, Johnnie Walker, GE, and Michael Kors; creative upstarts like Warby Parker and Box; and food-technology companies Beyond Meat and BrightFarms. Internationally, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies package spans the globe celebrating such companies as China’s Xiaomi (No. 3), India’s ZipDial (No. 8), and Brazil’s Braskem (No.41).

“It’s an honor for Harvest Power to be recognized for its leadership at the intersection of recycling, clean energy and healthy soil,” said Kathleen Ligocki, CEO of Harvest Power. “We’re in great company – Harvest and other innovators are showing that the model of ‘sustainability meet profitability’ is on an impressive growth trajectory.”

Also included in the issue are rankings of the Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in 10 critical areas. Additional Top 10 lists will be rolled out online and through social channels in the weeks to come.

“The culture of innovation across the globe is more robust than ever,” reports Fast Company editor Robert Safian, who identifies 12 lessons of innovation for 2014 within the issue. “To win in such a fast-changing environment requires a new kind of business agility.”

Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies issue (March 2014) is on newsstands beginning Feb. 17 and available online at www.fastcompany.com/MIC as well as in app form via iTunes.
